(NGO / Research Organisation – Cyprus-based)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations & Finance Officer (Part-Time) to support the day-to-day management and financial administration of the organisation.
This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth internal operations, effective project coordination, and compliance with donor requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and project teams to strengthen organisational systems and improve efficiency.
The role also involves close collaboration with the Director to support the implementation of the organisation’s long-term strategy and priorities, contributing to a more structured and effective growth trajectory.
As part of an environmental NGO, we are looking for a candidate who is genuinely motivated to contribute to an organisation that works to protect the environment and support local communities. A strong alignment with our mission and values, and a desire to create meaningful impact, are essential for this role.
This is a part-time position (approximately 4 hours per day), with potential to grow into a full-time role as the organisation expands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Management & Compliance (Core Priority)
- Maintain and monitor organisation’s revenues and expenditures
- Track financial performance across multiple projects
- Prepare financial reports for donors, partners and board of directors
- Support audits and ensure proper financial documentation
- Liaise with external accountants/bookkeepers
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and financial planning
2. Organisational Operations (Core Priority)
- Improve and maintain internal systems, workflows, and processes
- Support coordination of contracts, procurement, and suppliers
- Assist with basic HR/admin tasks (contracts, timesheets, onboarding)
- Organise internal meetings and track follow-up actions
3. Strategic & Organisational Support (Core Priority)
- Work closely with the Director to support the implementation of the organisation’s long-term strategy and goals
- Assist in translating strategic priorities into operational plans and actions
- Help track progress against organisational objectives and key priorities
- Contribute to improving internal planning, coordination, and decision-making processes
- Identify opportunities to enhance organisational effectiveness and sustainability
4. Project Coordination & Administration
- Maintain organised project documentation and filing systems
- Support preparation of administrative sections of project reports
- Assist in proposal development (budgets, administrative inputs)
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and procedures
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in financial management and budgeting
- Excellent command of English and Greek
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Experience with EU-funded or NGO projects is highly desirable
- Strong Excel / spreadsheet skills

Position Details
- Type: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week / 4 hours per day or 2,5 days per week)
- Location: Office-based in Xylotymbou, Larnaca, Cyprus with possibility of hybrid working
- Salary Range: €900 – €1,100 gross/month (depending on experience)
- Starting date: 01/06/2026
