“The Blue Conference”-Creative environmental awareness workshops for children.
Designed and facilitated by Rebecca Katsaris (educator) & Chloe Finn (illustrator /sketch artist).
Description:
The more us humans keep forgetting the importance of marine life the more marine biodiversity will keep getting negatively affected. It is urgently needed to realise that further degradation of the marine environment threatens the conditions of all life on Earth. We are certain that children can help take action and that now is the time to do something about it! If not the children, then who? If not now, then when?
The NGO Enalia Physis Environmental Research Center team that has as its main mission to protect the marine habitats and biodiversity, is very happy to offer to children a series of innovative and fun workshops in order to highlight the importance of marine biodiveristy of Cyprus and more specifically, the threatened marine species that live around, or visit our island.
Through experimentation with different materials and techniques, children will have the opportunity to discuss some of the most important problems which marine species are facing at the moment as well as the ways in which they can be protected. Among other things, all participants will be creating their own poster through which they will convey their own message for the protection of the marine environment. Do not miss the opportunity to offer this unique gift of awareness and creativity to your children!
*Duration of each workshop: 1 1⁄2 hours.
*The workshops can be conducted in English and can be adapted according to a) the children’s age group and b) whether the children’s families are joining them.

“Το Γαλάζιο Συνέδριο” – Δημιουργικά εργαστήρια περιβαλλοντικής ευαισθητοποίησης.

Περιγραφή:
Όσο ο άνθρωπος ξεχνά ότι η ζωή γεννήθηκε στη θάλασσα, τόσο ο πλούτος που κρύβει μέσα της θα καταστρέφεται. Αν οι μεγάλοι απέτυχαν να τον προστατεύσουν, τα παιδιά μπορούν! Αν οι μεγάλοι δεν μπορούν, τα παιδιά θέλουν και μπορούν! Αν όχι τώρα, πότε; Αν όχι τα παιδιά, ποιοι;
O ΜΚΟ Εναλια Φύσις Περιβαλλοντικό Κέντρο Ερευνών, που έχει ως βασική του αποστολή την προστασία του θαλάσσιου περιβάλλοντος προσκαλεί τα παιδιά σε μια σειρά καινοτόμων και διασκεδαστικών εργαστηρίων με σκοπό την ανάδειξη των προβλημάτων που αντιμετωπίζει ο θαλάσσιος πλούτος της Κύπρου. Ειδικότερα, τα εργαστήρια εστιάζουν στα θαλάσσια είδη που ζουν ή επισκέπτονται το νησί μας και βρίσκονται σε κίνδυνο.
Μέσα από τον πειραματισμό με διαφορετικά υλικά και τεχνικές, τα παιδιά θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να ενημερωθούν για τα σημαντικότερα προβλήματα με τα οποία έρχονται αντιμέτωπα τα θαλάσσια είδη καθώς και τους τρόπους με τους οποίους αυτά μπορούν να προστατευθούν. Μεταξύ άλλων, τα παιδιά θα δημιουργήσουν την δική τους αφίσα μέσα από την οποία θα μεταφέρουν το δικό τους μήνυμα για την προστασία του θαλάσσιου περιβάλλοντος και των θαλάσσιων ειδών. Μην χάσετε την ευκαιρία να προσφέρετε αυτό το μοναδικό δώρο ευαισθητοποίησης και δημιουργικότητας στα παιδιά σας!
Διάρκεια κάθε εργαστηρίου: 1 1⁄2 ώρα
*Τα εργαστήρια μπορούν να γίνουν και στα Αγγλικά και να προσαρμοστούν ανάλογα α) την ηλικιακή ομάδα των παιδιών και β) αν θα συνοδεύονται από μέλη της οικογένειας τους.
